She was awarded a doctoral FCT fellowship in the scope of the International PhD Programme in<br \/>\nComparative Studies (U. Lisbon, Catholic U. Leuven and U. Bologna). Her doctoral project focuses on the relations between literature and material culture during the second half of the 19th century, especially in the oeuvre of George Eliot, Henry James and Theodor Fontane.
