Susana Ara\u00fajo<\/strong> works at University of Coimbra and is a researcher at CEC. She was awarded three highly competitive research contracts from FCT: in 2019 she was a senior level research grant, i.e.\u00a0Investigador Principal<\/i>\u00a0 (CEEC); she had been previously awarded an FCT\u00a0Research Grant also as\u00a0Investigador Principal<\/i>\u00a0(IF 2013) and she was awarded a Research Grant under Programa Ci\u00eancia in 2007. \nSusana Ara\u00fajo completed her PhD at the University of Sussex in 2004; she was granted an MA with Distinction from the University of Warwick in 1999 and a First Degree from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Lisbon in 1997.She taught at\u00a0he\u00a0Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FLUL) from 2009 to 2018, and is Project leader of\u00a0CILM \u2013 City and (In)security in Literature and the Media<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 an R&D project which also received funding from FCT.\u00a0 She\u00a0was also\u00a0the coordinator of the research group\u00a0LOCUS from 2009 to 2019. She is the author of\u00a0Transatlantic Fictions of 9\/11 and the War on Terror\u00a0<\/em>(Bloomsbury Academic, 2015)\u00a0which was awarded a CHOICE Outstanding Academic Title in 2016. She wrote the\u00a0poetry book\u00a0D\u00edvida Soberana\u00a0<\/em>(2012), is the co-editor of the books\u00a0Fear and Fantasy in a Global World\u00a0<\/em>(Rodopi, 2015),\u00a0Trans\/American, Trans\/Oceanic, Trans\/Lation: Issues in International American Studies<\/em>\u00a0(2010) and\u00a0(In)seguran\u00e7as no Espa\u00e7o Urbano. Perspetivas Culturais<\/em>\u00a0(2012). She also edited a special issue for the\u00a0Review of International American Studies<\/em>\u00a0(2008\/2009) and a thematic issue of\u00a0Reconstructions: Studies in Contemporary Culture<\/em>, and published several articles in international peer-reviewed journals (such as\u00a0Atlantic Studies, Studies in the Novel, Women Studies, Critical Survey, Symbiosis<\/em>) as well as several chapters in books and introductions to anthologies.<\/p>\n\n
