LIT&TOUR – LITERATURE AND TOURISM

Description
The Lit & Tour Project was created in January 2012 with the aim of promoting research on the intersections of Literature and Tourism. An interdisciplinary confluence that has the ability to reframe geography, to rebuild places and redefine concepts such as literary place, tourist or traveller.
This project involves researchers from the School of Management, Hospitality and Tourism of the University of Algarve, from the Catholic University of Minas Gerais, and from the Centre for Comparative Studies and the Centre of Portuguese Folk Traditions, both associated to the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon.
Currently, the Lit&Tour Project develops two types of research:
(I) One focused on the definition of key concepts and of research methodologies;
(II) Another associated with literary tourism, focused on listing and creating literary places as well as literary itineraries.
Objective
The aim of the Project is to promote research on the intersections of Literature and Tourism.
