Biographical not

Elena Cordero Hoyo has graduated in Journalism and Media studies at the Univ. Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid (2011), from which she holds a Master’s degree in Spanish Cinema studies (2013). She was awarded a scholarship by the Portuguese national funding agency (FCT) for her research project on women access to the cinema industry in Spain and Portugal during the silent period. Apart from being part of the research project “Cinema and the World: Studies on Space and Cinema” of the Centre for Comparative Studies (Univ. of Lisbon School of Arts and Humanities), she is also member of the research group “Presence and Representation of Women in Early Cinema” (Univ. of Girona) and she is an editor of Secuencias, an online film history journal.
